Alongside IFA, Yamaha ran a dedicated launch event in conjunction with youth-focused media group, Vice. it was Yamaha's two newly announced, and more modest turntables that have awakened fans of the brand.
Russell Wykes, Marketing and Global Content Development Manager for Yamaha Music Australia’s AV Division told StereoNET:
When you look back at the history of hi-fi, Yamaha features prominently having produced numerous products that have helped to shape the way we listen to music today.
We’re now looking to introduce a new generation to hi-fi and are extremely excited to be doing so with the launch of our new turntables.
Yamaha's new TT-S303 entry-point turntable features a straight tonearm and belt-driven design and is perfect for the no-fuss vinyl lover. It also utilises a switchable Phono and Line Output, ready for connection to your existing Hi-Fi system, or directly to a pair of active speakers. It will sell for $599 (AUD) and is expected to be available in New Zealand in October 2018.
The range will include the MusicCast VINYL 500 (TT-N503), which as the name suggests steps into the future with a tribute to the past. The wireless turntable is designed to complement Yamaha's MusicCast multi-room audio platform allowing you to stream vinyl throughout your home.
The belt drive, straight tonearm turntable featured music streaming services built-in including Spotify, Deezer, TIDAL, AirPlay and Bluetooth and features WiFi that supports both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands.
