Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Earphones Available
Klipsch releases its T5 II true wireless earphone range, including McLaren Racing-inspired flagship Sport model.
Klipsch's T5 II True Wireless earphone range has been released today and includes the flagship Sport McLaren edition, inspired by the racing team's adaptability and engineering prowess.
First announced back in January at CES, the trio of new true wireless earphones promise to deliver best-in-class sound, comfort, technology and materials.
Klipsch T5 II (SGD $299)
All three of the T5 II range boast USB-C 2C fast charing of the earphone carry case, as well as a newly designed signal-boosting antenna in each earpiece. Additionally, the entire range of earphones is IP67 rated, meaning that they are both dust- and waterproof.
There are also unseen upgrades, including drivers that sport even thinner diaphragms - from 3.2 microns to 3.0. We are told that, even though a tiny adjustment, it brings higher clarity and resolution to the party.
Compact, Comfortable, Improved Connectivity
The earphones are 25% smaller than the previous iteration thanks to using smaller, denser batteries. With that, along with Klipsch's oval ear tips, they should prove more comfortable to wear. Furthermore, the perfect fit should be even easier to get thanks to the addition of extra “half-size” tip increments and so doubling the number of tips to choose from.
As the earphones are smaller, the Zippo-style case is also smaller than the outgoing model. However, the case still stores 24 hours of battery life, with a further 8 hours of play time in the earphones bringing the total to 32 hours of wire-free audio. The T5 II Sport and Sport McLaren add wireless charging for the case with the latter bundled with a charging pad.
Using Bluetooth 5 as well as aptX and AAC codecs matched with the new seamlessly designed anodised metal signal-boost exterior antenna delivers both high-quality audio and connectivity. For “best-in-class” voice chat, the Klipsch T5 II is equipped with four beamforming microphones.
Klipsch T5 II Sport McLaren (SGD $399)
As Klipsch is the official headphone and portable audio partner of the McLaren Formula 1 team, the T5 II Sport McLaren earphones are the range toppers. Making them even more durable is the special dust- and waterproof case. Furthermore, the case has a neat moisture removal system so, when you put your earphones in the case after working up a sweat, your earphones will be dry when you come to wear them again. Speaking of working out, both of the Sport models come with three sizes of “no-budge” ear wings.
As well as securing the earphones, the ear wings feature specially designed channels to cut down wind noise when taking calls on the run. Also, you get an extra pair of Comply memory foam ear tips. Naturally, the Klipsch T5 II Sport McLaren is wrapped in the racing team's hallmark Papaya Orange with tasteful carbon fibre accents. Marking these as being truly a special edition is the included brand book and a serialised metal card of authenticity.
Klipsch T5 II Sport (SGD $349)
The Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport earphones include the same features as the Klipsch x McLaren model but are available in two colours – black and white - although, our press shots also shows a cool green version of that protective case. Perhaps not available in the UK… yet?
Finally, the free Klipsch Connect App, which is available in eight languages, enables you to make EQ adjustments, access the quick start guide and troubleshoot, check device battery status and manage transparency controls. This is also where updates will come in through. Your choice of digital assistant is summoned by a double-tap on the control button. Finally, we are told that the controls remap depending on whether you are wearing one or both earphones.
All new earphone models are available for pre-order now with expected shipping in September 2020.
