Focal Launches its Celestee Premium Closed-Back Headphones

Focal introduces its Celestee premium closed-back headphones.
Focal's Celestee follows the launch of Stellia in 2019 and draws upon the experience gained while developing the French brand's Elegia cans with additional acoustic treatment within the earcups used for the Celestee to prevent resonance.
The Celestee is powered by Focal's 40mm Aluminium/Magnesium' M’-shaped dome full-range speaker drivers. These sit within leather-covered closed-back earcups trimmed with stainless steel grilles.
Focal says that we can expect remarkable sound performance: incredible bass extension, and tonal balance unrivalled in their category. The spec sheet quotes a 5Hz-23Khz frequency response and 105dB SPL / 1 mW @ 1kHz sensitivity. Impedance is shown as being 35 Ohms.
The 430g headphones also feature semi-aniline leather-covered earpads and an aluminium yoke wrapped in a leather and microfibre headband.
However, what is difficult to ignore is the striking colourway chosen for the Focal Celestee. This is the result of working with Designer & Product Colourist, Doris Bölck who told StereoNET:
Navy is the new Black. Dark blue is a versatile and timeless colour that has been increasing in popularity. By choosing Navy Blue, we are adding a sophisticated, sumptuous feel to the headphones. The combination of this blue with copper and bronze accents is a trend influenced by interior and accessory design, and has become popular in watchmaking and consumer electronics sectors. These shades offer a very interesting and elegant alternative to more traditional chrome and silver parts.
The Focal Celestee come bundled with a carrying case and 1.2m OFC 24 AWG cable with 3.5mm unbalanced TRS Jack connector, along with a jack adapter with 6.35mm point plug.
The Focal Celestee will be available from February 2021 priced at USD $990 | SGD $1,499.
