Focal 1000 Series CI Speakers Announced

Focal announces its new custom install range - including Utopia technology.
Focal's 1000 Series of in-wall and in-ceiling speaker and subwoofer options are said to be a “game-changer” and boast unrivalled performance levels and install flexibility.
The new flagship custom install range is apparently the result of three years of development. It promises all the savoir-faire, not to mention speaker know-how, exclusive technology, and exquisite French design, expected from Focal.
Made in France in Focal's specialist workshops, the 1000 Series offers the brand's Beryllium tweeters and 'W' cones – as used in Focal's Utopia home speaker range.
Naturally, the wall speakers feature adjustable drivers enabling you to angle them in any direction towards the optimum listening position. Also, the ceiling speakers use Focal's patented 'Easy Quick Install' system for tool-free integration. All the speakers feature magnetic, paintable grills.
The 1000 IWLCR Utopia in-wall speaker packs Utopia technology which means you get Focal's flagship Beryllium tweeter, four 6.5-inch W bass drivers and two 3-inch midrange “M” profile W drivers. Moreover, it is adjustable (+/- 15°) to suit the optimum listening position. You can pair the panel with up to six 1000 IWSUB Utopia subwoofers for what Focal calls an ultimate integrated home cinema experience.
That brings us nicely to the 1000 IWSUB Utopia (below) which is an in-wall closed subwoofer also packing Utopia tech. This is a two-part design – each featuring three 6.5-inch W bass drivers. We're told that it can reproduce incredible levels of powerful and controlled bass. Easy to fit and scale to suit even the largest installs.
There are a further five models - the 1000 IWLCR6, 1000 ICLCR5, 1000 ICW6, and 1000 ICA6 in-ceiling speakers, and the 1000 IW6 2-way in-wall speaker.
The Focal 1000 Series will be available from January 2021 with the 1000 IWLCR Utopia priced at US$7,499 each and the 1000 IWSUB Utopia costing US$2,799.
The rest of the Focal 1000 Series costs between US$1,099 and US$2,799 per product.
