It never ceases to amaze me how prices have dropped so much, today for that money one can get a KRP-500A and STILL have change left over for a BD player and DVD player, and a huge stack of discs. Anyone here pay 5 figures for a 1st or 2nd gen 43" Pioneer? I think the first ones went for almost $16K... :o Speaking of which, no news on Sitex deals for the 500A? Anyway, see the settings in this thread and the settings one, tell us if this fits your 9th Gen panel. IMO you should get ISF calibration for such a good panel and budget another 5k for a decent HT setup to match this. Please avoid that cheesy HITB from Pioneer. c722 still has the biggest panel here. We have lots of folks who get the panel without asking too many questions. Apologies if this this topic has been discussed before, I've tried searching the forum but can't seem to locate this information. Composite video (single RCA, usually coloured yellow) is better, S-video even better than that, component (three RCA coloured blue, green and red) better still, HDMI best (but digital STB doesn't have HDMI). IIRC, SD digital STB only goes up to composite; if it had S-video I'm sure I would have used it. So use composite or S-video (whichever one your box has), and you'll need a pair of RCA for the stereo audio as well (coloured red and white). (Just consider: RF is both video and audio combined into a single signal. Composite is video all combined into one signal, with audio separate. S-video you can't see it from looking at the cable, but it is partly kept separate as 3 signals IIRC. Component it is completely kept separate as 3 signals.) For PC, use VGA connection.
