Had a very bad experience with Alfred, will not have any dealings with him anymore.

Bought a used valve CDP (its European made, not cheap player) from him and later realized the cdp dac has been bypass to a cheapo, less than $10 china made dac.

what is bypass??  did he tell you that the original dac was faulty?

Thanks for all the advice. He quote $65 with 2-3 days downtime.

Discover yesterday, the CD door can manually pull out slowly, put CD, slowly push in. It is still able to play without skipping.

If you open the player, you will find that the tray open and close mechanism consists of a gear, plastic wheel and a rubber band. If the gear and plastic wheel are in good condition, it's the rubber band that has turned hard or stretched.

Take out the belt and go to Koba at People's Park Centre and get a new one

Try to replace it yourself and see whether it works.  Just my personal opinion and disclaimer apply as usual.

Thanks everyone.

DIY by ordering the parts (gears & rubber band) from AliExpress.
Open the CD player, discover 1 gear totally broken.

Replace the whole set and close it. CD tray still cannot open.

Reopen CD player again, realign 2 gear and don’t press so hard to each other.

Close it... the CD player back to life!!!!

Damm good experience in opening the chassis, removing 3 connectors, take out CD sliding tray & whole CD laser compartment.
