Tks for the view. No doubt it will also benefit single sub+small speakers setup, but the benefit will be less?

Am I correct to put the benefit in decreasing order as follows:

 1. Multi sub

2. single sub + full range speakers

3. single sub + small speakers

Define small? satellite with high x-over or bookshelf speakers with a typical 60Hz - 100Hz x-over? whats the footprint (size) of your single subwoofer. Order doesn't matter (at this point). Dual subwoofer implementation is for smoothing the response within a given listening environment, not just purely output gains in SPL.

If the Question is Dirac with Bass control the Answer is YES.

Bass control add on in Dirac is more for multiple sub .

one sub is only using the 7.1 ( sub out ) that nothing do with BM ( using the balance output you hv on a 16 channel asign to bass output and control more sub ).

Both.  Small as in “not large” in AVR settings, thus all low frequency will be directed to the single sub only.

Tks Peng.

if single sub but with large full range front L/R speakers, will Dirac with bass control still help for better x-over frequency transition/integration?

Or 100% only for multi subs?

Here i posted some basic on how BM and multi sub hardware needed.

As to whether you set your front to small/ large , it all depend on how the given Mfr implement on their brand , but normal case you can do

1) large with Sub

2) large without sub

3) Small ( is alway sub enable )

4) you can also set few profile and select as you need.

5) higher end model beside can select large / small it can also set roll off point / slop / delay , this are more advance user setting

6) even after the auto calibration , user can still do the house curve as they need , but all this very much depend on the amp / spk/ sub /headroom / compression set in.

In general , full liz dirac account you can do everything you can think of , each speaker roll off point , each format can also have it own profile , you can do multi ch digital calibration or even just 2 ch pure Stereo calibration , all this function are usually reserved for higher end electronic and some with AES capable.

In layman’s terms , BM is a new add on feature on the DL v3  some hardware can calibrate with and without and save into few profile. BM with multi-sub is another implementation all this are enable on DL ver 3 .xx onward but you need more channel processing and you also need to find out does the AVR support channel assignment as some are pre define for a given purpose , as far as i know higher end Dirac enable processor are all channel assignable, so we do as we want upto the max channel it can support .
